This year’s winner for Best Photo is a shot by Francois Portmann of Robin Mueller carving past a van tagged with the ever popular slogan “Jesus Saves”.

Special thanks to all the photographers who competed, and Sumo Graphics for providing a $1,000 gift certificate in printing and imaging services for the Best Photo prize.

    Art Exhibit

On top of the skate and photography competition, Style Sessions hosted an art exhibit and silent auction at Milk Gallery from May 26th through June 3rd in New York City.

The exhibit included a series of original art on skateboards and surfboards, skate and surf photos, and several larger pieces like an American flag and a dream-catcher.

The Style Sessions art exhibit raised over eighteen thousand dollars for Boarding for Breast Cancer. Opening night at Milk hosted over 1,200 guests that included artists, skaters, surfers, photographers, business people, and general buzz-makers. Please see the opening night photos.

Contributing artists for the exhibit included Julian Schnabel, Barry Mcgee, Art Brewer, Michael Halsband, William Wegman, Hazel Dooney, Matthew Satz, Steve Olson, Peter Tunney, Stacy Peralta, Lance Mountain, Wynn Miller, Andy Kessler, Kevin Ancell, and Francois Portmann.

Everyone at Freshpaved would like to extend a special thanks to William Quigley for curating The Style Sessions Art Exhibit. Thanks, William! Hats off to you for doing an amazing job; we couldn't have done this without your expertise.

Additional thanks to all of the artists, and to Skull Skates and Gravity for donating blank decks to use as canvas for the original art series. To check out the Style Sessions art collection please visit the gallery.
